01 — What we do

Capabilities

Carbon steel, stainless, aluminum, and more, from thin sheet to heavy plate. We read your drawings, hold your tolerances, and solve the fit issues before they become your problem.

01Welding

Welding methods

Stick (SMAW), MIG (GMAW), pulse MIG, flux-core (FCAW), TIG (GTAW), and oxy-acetylene torch welding.

02Metals

Metals & thicknesses

Carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, cast iron, copper, nickel, brass, and bronze. Thin sheet to heavy plate, with layered weld passes on thick material.

03Joints

Joints & positions

End-to-end, T-shaped, and fillet welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. Deep, even welds with heat controlled to prevent warping.

04Cutting

Cutting & prep

Plasma cutting, air carbon arc gouging, and precise cuts to size and angle. Joints are prepped for full penetration, and finished welds are ground clean.

05Fabrication

Custom fabrication

Custom metal parts cut, fitted, aligned, and assembled. Fixtures built to hold work in place, and fit problems solved without changing your design.

06Plans

Reading plans & specs

Blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols, including weld size, length, and placement. We follow written welding procedures (WPS) and hold your dimensions and tolerances.

07Quality

Inspection & quality

Welds are visually checked for pinholes (porosity), edge grooves (undercut), excess buildup, and poor bonding (lack of fusion). Defects are corrected, and the finished work is clean and built to last.

02 — About

We exist because good welds shouldn't be hard to find.

American Steel Forge was founded by a tradesman with decades of hands-on shipyard and industrial fabrication experience, and a partner focused on running the business right. Our goal is simple: precise welds, honest pricing, and parts that show up ready to work — on time, every time.

We serve manufacturers across the Southeast, working in carbon steel, stainless, aluminum, and more. If it has to be right, it's our kind of job.
